SUMMARY:Jumps Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The workshop is aimed at Coaching Assistant and Athletics Coach level.  The format will be a 1.5 hour theory based session on physical preparation and planning and a 1.5 hour practical session\, the practical session will have an event specialist (triple / long / high) to help solve common faults faced when coaching your athletes and give you tools to solve them. \nEach coach that books onto the workshop can bring one athlete; this will be limited to the first 10 coaches on a first come first serve basis to make sure we can deliver a valuable learning experience to all the coaches. We will contact the first 10 coaches per event group to confirm they can bring an athlete. \nDeliverer: The session will be delivered by our England Athletics Regional Coach Leads with support from national level coaches in the regions. \nThis workshop: Jamie French \nJamie French has been a qualified athletics coach for 23 years.  He is an experience coach education tutor and assessor who has helped to shape the current set of Coach Education courses for British and England Athletics.  He predominantly coaches Jumps and Sprints\, although has coached a number of international multi-eventers\, middle distance athletes and bobsleigh/Skelton.  He has recently coached a number of England and Great Britain International Athletes\, and has team managed the England Athletics Jumps squad in an international competition as part of the National Coach Development Programme.  He is a Principal Lecturer at Leeds Beckett University\, helping to deliver both the Physical Education and Spots Studies courses.  His research is predominantly in the use of High Intensity Warm Ups (HIWU) to enhance performance and interventions to be used prior to start and in-between rounds of Triple and Long Jump competitions. \n
