Just a quick massage to say that you to all who came and helped last night in the organisation of the event which was a great success. Everyone was a massive help and really did make the event run smoothly and we have had great feedback.

Congratulation to our Inaugural Gateshead Harriers Club 5k Champions for 2014 are Jed Marshall (15m43sec) and Michelle Nolan (18m09secs). We had 40 Gateshead Harriers in the race so thanks for the great support once again.

Mike Dawson has written a detailed ladies report below:

It was great turnout by Gateshead on the inaugural Quayside 5k race with 13 of our Female athletes competing.
Michelle Nolan led the Club in as the 4th lady overall in a marvelous PB of 18.09 & was soon followed by
Faye Buckton (8th) & Morven Lean (9th) to secure the 1st team place. This was ably supported by Rebecca Peace,
Lisa Atkinson & Sarah Hill in 11th/12th/13th places.
Not forgetting the others to complete the scene is Julie-an Brown/Jacquie Walker/Caroline Campbell/Gemma Hymers/
Elizabeth Medd & Nikki Adelaide all played their part too. Many of the Athletes also got PB’s on the night…so many congratulations to everyone for supporting your Club & Teammates.

(Nb. a quick mention to the men…we had 27 Club members running..so all round a super Club turnout..well done, guys!)

Can i query my result please? Both my gun and chip time are the same, yet i didnt cross the start line for a good 10 seconds after the gun? I started my garmin on the chip mats and stopped it once i was over the finish mats. My garmin time was 28.39 but i have been given 29.48. I crossed the start with a girl from my running club, and finished a couple of seconds in front of her, yet she has been given a chip time 8 seconds faster than me.. were there problems with the chips tonight? A few results for my friends are showing gun and chip time the same even though none of us were at the front to instantly cross the timing mats.. Thanks
