We would like to welcome coach Lee Morgan as the new addition to the Gateshead Harriers team.
With 10 years coaching experience, Lee continues to support his U17 athletes at North Shields Poly but has relocated to Gateshead to coach U13 and U15 middle distance/endurance athletes to competition standard. In recent years Lee has had the honour of coaching an English Schools Champion, National Road Relay Medalists and numerous North of England and North East Champions.
Lee started running at the age of 10 when he joined his local club, Wallsend Harriers. As a youngster he reached County and Area level and regularly competed at the Inter Counties and English Schools. His most notable performances were under the legendary Gateshead coach Stan Long including a win in the Junior Great North Run 5 mile in 1992 and becoming double North East champion over 5k and 10k in 1995. He represented the North of England on 6 occasions over road and cross country but sadly his Senior career was cut short due to injury.
