It was great to see several Gateshead Harriers in action at the British Athletics Indoor Championships this weekend.
Well done to Richard Kilty on his 3rd place in the 60m Final in 6.53secs taking him to 4th in the World in 2014, Ross Murray and Paulo Pinheiro 5th & 13th respectively in the 3000m Final, Emma Pringle 7th in Triple Jump Final and Scott Hall 9th in the Triple Jump Final.
Richard was elated stating on Facebook:
‘Equal 2nd [sic] in British championships, with Dwain ~Chambers who was once my biggest idol when I was a kid growing up. 4th fastest time in the world. Massive personal best 6.53 seconds! Wicked day. Buzzing!’
Other Gateshead Athletes who made the qualifying standard for that was also the World Indoor Trails included Rachel Highfield (200m) – if I missed anybody let me know!
