Joy Eze and Philippa Ellis accepted an invite to the British Championships at the weekend competing in the 60m and 60m Hurdles respectively.  Joy had 3 amazing runs finishing just outside the medals in 4th place.   A massive achievement for an U20 competing against Senior International athletes.   Philippa hit a hurdle in her race putting paid to her efforts to progress to the final.   Well done to both.

Meanwhile in Scotland the U20 and U15 Scottish Championships meant more medals for Gateshead Harriers.   Susan Folorunso continued her good form winning Gold in the U20W 60m sprint.  Beni Ayuk and Josh Hickson both progressed to the final of the U20M 60m sprint.   In the U15s we had 3 representatives:

Skye Marshall won Gold in the Triple Jump and Silver in the Shot Putt finishing off with a 13th place in the High Jump

Ben Cunningham won Silver in the High Jump and was 4th in the Long Jump

Rebecca Etherington won Bronze in the Shot Putt.
