Well done to Joe Halpin, Oliver Herring and Sam Bradley who competed in the National multi-event champs at the weekend. Joe was 5th overall, 2nd in the English Champs and 2nd in the Northern Champs. All 3 had good performances in their first season as U17 athletes.

Bes performance of the weekend came from Ashlyn Bland winning gold in the 400m with a championship performance.   Other medallists were Joy Eze in the U13 60m, narrowly beaten into silver position by 0.01 seconds.  Ava Taperell finished her indoor season with a bronze medal in the U13 girls 800m.   A good turnout from Gateshead…

A busy weekend for Gateshead Harriers with both a Harrier League and schools cross country. I missed a fantastic performance by Ava Taperell at the Northern U13 Indoor Championships where she got the gold medal in the 800m in a championship best performance of 2.25.06.   Well done Ava.
