On Monday 2nd March at the Civic Centre in Newcastle Ellie Mahon was presented with a Rising Star Award (see photo) this was for her progression and achievements in Athletics over the previous 12 months.
The Trophy had a number of past and present Gateshead Harriers names on it, Niall Flannery, Calum Johnson and Mark McGarry all have progressed to International honours and I,m sure that we wish Ellie continued improvement to reach her goals within the sport.
At the same award Ceremony Rueben Cole also received an Award for his outstanding achievements at 400m Hurdles event, he won the English Schools Title(year young) and was 2nd in the Home Countries International.
