Congratulations to the 5 athletes who were selected and travelled to Manchester to compete in the UK School Games. Reuben Cole started the team competition well in his 400m Hurdles with a storming first 200m to win comfortably and take the gold medal. 2 silver medals followed with Emily Stewart in the Ambulant Shot Putt and Joseph Gray in the Ambulant Long Jump, both athletes recording PBs. Beth Pringle was in a high quality 300m sprint, bringing her PB down by half a second and Sophie Bronze jumped her 2nd PB in a week in the Pole Vault.
Their performances contributed to a strong North East team performance where we finished 5th in the Gold Medal table but 2nd in the Total Medals table – so many Silver medals!!!
