We had a reduced turnout of young athletes at this fixture but there were still some good performances by our runners. Although it stayed dry, the gusting winds and muddy conditions ensured the course was as demanding as ever.

In the under 11 boys, Harry Garrett was an excellent 4th followed by  Matthew Waters in 16th and Abdullah Djabali, 19th,  in his first cross country race.  In the under 11 girls, there was another encouraging run by Skye Marshall in 21st  place.

William Wells was a clear winner of the under 13 boys.  With Ben Asquith running strongly in 16th and Oliver Ezeoke 33rd, both running from the fast pack, the team finished 3rd.

Strong runs by Jessica Milburn in 5th, Annabel Milburn 9th and Millie Watson 18th, all from the fast pack took the under 13 girls into 3rd place.  They are in 2nd place overall, 1 point behind the leaders,. A special mention goes to Lucy Oliver who despite losing a shoe, and tangling with a fence, still managed to finish 45th.

In the under 15 girls, Ines Curran ran through to 2nd place and leading position in the overall standings. Rosie Hughes was 22nd also running from the fast pack.

Well done to all the runners! Thanks to everybody who supported the athletes and helped with the tent.  Thanks also to the race officials and host club, Blackhill Bounders.
