The first track championships of 2018 have been held in Sheffield over the past 2 weekends.   Oliver Herring built on his excellent Gold medal in the Northern multi-events by collecting Silver in the U20 men’s 60m Hurdles and Pole Vault.

Gold medals were also won by Jason Nicholson in the U20 Men’s 60m Hurdles and Joe Halpin in the U20 men’s Long Jump, Joe just missed out in 4th place in both the Shot Put and High Jump to complete a good championships.  Amelia Bateman returned to form to take the Gold Medal in the U20 Women’s High Jump.

Sophie Littlemore maintained her recent successes at this level with a Silver in the Senior Women’s Shot Putt.

Bronze medals were earned by Phillippa Ellis in the U17 Women’s 60m Hurdles, Thomas Bowden in the U20 Men’s Triple Jump and Sarah Derham in the Pole Vault.

Congratulations also to our other finalists: Andrew Roen, Daniel Walsh, Hannah Pringle, Oliver Lewis, Megan Costello.

In addition some athletes (many in the first year of their age group) performed well at this level and gained valuable experience – Justin Cooper, Beth Pringle, James Hutton, Matthew Robertson, Josh McKeown, Matthew Lawson, Gregory Abibu Bukasa, Olivia Quinn, Lucy Giles, Charlotte Richardson, Emily Stewart and Emma Scarborough.

Congratulations to all the athletes and a massive thank you to the coaches and parents who supported them in travelling down to Sheffield.
