The above Championships were held on a warm spring day at Stanley Park – Blackpool, with the club being represented in both Female & Male races.

The Men got off to a great start on leg 1 which was a Long Leg (5.9mile) with Lewis Moses bringing the Team home in 3rd position, this was a good opportunity and boost to the other team members and we remained in the top 10 for the next 5 legs, truly responding with battling performances. The Team was just edged out of the top 10, and overall finishing 11th out of more then 60 teams we had to be well satisfied with the performance, the Team not being finalised until the day before.

Lewis Moses was rewarded with the 3rd fastest time of the day on the Long Leg and Chris Parr recorded the 2nd fastest time of the day on the Short Leg, the other members of the team were James Cripwell, Sean Hall, Kevin Connolly, Jed Marshall, Steven Medd, Devon Stead, David Wakefield, David Old, Peter Grimoldby and Martin Slater.

Our Ladies just missed out finishing in the top 20 with a solid performances throughout, the Team eventually came home in 22nd place, so good experience with over 50 teams starting, the Team consisted of Mary Ferrier, Sarah Hill, Rebecca Bennett, Kate Chapman, Maggie Lorraine and Gillian Manfield, made the trip to wear the Club strip, So an enjoyable day all around well done to those who took part and to our supporters.

We move on now to the National 12 Stage & 6 Stage which is on 8th April and then more locally we have the Elswick Relays on 14th April (Good Friday) so please make yourself available for those Races and contact Marc Elliott or myself ASAP.
