The Senior Ladies had a very successful day at the 3rd Harrier League which was held on a testing course within the boundary of Gosforth Park on Saturday 27th October, the weather being cold and windy.

The team got off to a great start with Aife McSheffrey making her debut for the club and almost making it a winning one, battled really well crossing the line in 2nd place, the Ladies were really packing well with the Red & White Gateshead colours very prominent. So with Maraid Power in 9th position and Katherine Downie in 20th position (also relatively new additions to the club) the Team was in a very strong position and looking for their 4th counter to close the team. They did not have to wait too long with Jackie Phillips, really having a good run, who was the 4th member of the Team, which was also overall 1st Team winners. The ladies had a tremendous turn out of 16 runners (4 Teams) and with Sarah Hill, Elizabeth O’Connor, Jane Giles, Lucie Wilkinson & Lisa Atkinson all working their way through the field from the other packs, they backed the winning team up really well.

Team Manager Lisa Atkinson was delighted with the teams performance and with winning the Team race.   It will have really helped their overall position/status in their Division, we look forward now to the next League run at Durham on the 17th November.
