Some of our young athletes started their cross country fixtures at the Farringdon races in Sunderland.  The warm conditions and the hilly course ensured it was the usual tough early season test for them.

Alex Lienard led from the start to win the under 11 Boys, chased by Sam Emery who ran well to retain second position.  A special mention goes to Habib Touray who finished 17th in his first cross country race for the club.

Alex Boyer of Darlington was a fine winner of the under 13 Boys.  Behind him, William Wells and Matthew Das had their own race with William holding onto to 2nd  and Matthew finishing 3rd.   Sonny Lewins did well to finish 15th.

In a strong under 15 Girls race, Jessica Ord had an encouraging run to come in 5th.

Well done to everyone to ran and thanks to Sunderland Harriers for hosting the event.
